"Lock All" Scene for Schlage Locks

Evening all.

Haven’t been able to find a definitive answer to this question in the posts I’ve read.

I’m currently using the Schlage LiNK online offering in anticipation of receiving my Vera and setting it up next weekend. This evening I thought I would create a scene that my wife had requested that would lock both our locks @ 9PM… Much to my surprise I don’t seem to be able to do this with Schlage’s offering. Could someone please confirm that I’m going to be able to achieve this with Vera.

Not a problem with the Schlage door lock.
It will not work the way you wish with the deadbolt as the deadbolt will does not move.

However the B&D/kwickset unit will lock

Correct. I have the deadbolt and the lever doesn’t “throw” it’s a manual process. The deadbolt simply activates the latch and you have to throw the bolt into Locked or Unlocked position

I can’t speak for the other lock that schlage offers, but if you have the deadbolt you must have manual intervention to throw it into lock or unlock mode. One Advantage of the deadbolt is that you can create a scene to UNLOCK (activate the mechanism for someone waiting outside to come in) - you can’t do this from what I hear with the other Schalge lock but I haven’t tried it personally

Actually you can create a scene for the handle lock to unlock it and it will stay unlocked until you lock it.

I believe the lock HW is all Schalge, I haven’t opened the bridge that comes with the Starter Kit to see who builds it. The www.schlagelink.com portal uses technology from Crayon Interface called Moshi. Not sure if the site is run by Schlage and/or subbed to Crayon.

Regardless, I’ll be cancelling once I get my Vera running. I think the schlagelink.com is a good retail solution but the price is to high for what they’re offering in my opinion. I’d say the best part of the system for us has been the iPhone App, but Vera will have a solution to match that soon enough.
