I have a Trane with local schedule enabled. The local schedule is set, it runs in a 7x4 configuration.
I’m thinking about leaving the local schedule in-place, and create a shadow set of schedule-initiated-scenes. As a baseline, the scenes will resemble the local schedule’s 7x4 configuration. I will over time tweak the time and temp in each of the scenes to get the temperatures to my liking.
Questions:
Will the scheduled scenes will in fact override the local schedule?
Say the current scene is active, and the next scene is scheduled to run at 4 PM with a different temperature set, will the next scene supersede the current scene, and so on? Presuming that is how Vera scenes work?
If the current scene is running and there is no other scene, and the local schedule is set to change the temps at 5 PM, will the local schedule take over, or will the current scene continue to run indefinitely (until I make a change in Vera)?
If I disable the schedule in the scenes, will the local program correctly take over?

Yes, the local schedule will take over at the next scheduled time, with the scheduled settings
If I disable the schedule in the scenes, will the local program correctly take over? It appears to. Although, with the latest Vera firmware, the disabled schedules are still listed in the dashboard overview. Not sure if they will run even though the schedule is disabled.
If you disable the schedule of the scene in the scene schedules section (e.g. unchecking the enable button for that schedule), the scene will not run until it is enabled again.

Thanks Garrett. I noticed that the disabled items are still listed on the Dashboard/Overview/Upcoming schedules box. I saw in the Vera release notes that this was a bug that was resolved last March, but I presume the display is erroneous?
By the way, great Android app (presuming you’re the developer?). It displays whether the climate control system is “Heating” or “Cooling”. Is that determination based on specific data point or inference of temperature differential from set point? I only wish Vera would show whether the system is heating or cooling.
Yes, I am the developer of AutHomation(HD). The state of the thermostat is pulled from the data Vera gets from the Thermostat. The thermostat will actually tell Vera if it is heating or cooling via the mode status. This is just not displayed on Vera’s UI. It would be nice to have it displayed though as it is helpful to know if the thermostat is running.
