Loading 710 succeeded/failed

I loaded version 710, and it reported success, but did not work. The main Vera screen came up, but retrieving user data failed. When that happens, you are stuck on the initial screen, as all menuoptions ask you to wait until Vera has finished loading her data.

Poking around with the shell, it appeared that the normal processes has not started, either. Since I could not get past the main screen, I did not submit a ticket while 710 was loaded.

I was able to revert to 602 by using the command: [your local Vera IP addres]/cgi-bin/cmh/upgrade_step2.sh?ver=1.0.602

I did submit a ticket after reverting to 602 - but I doubt the logs would have been in place at that point.

By the way, I tried resetting to defaults and it did not help. I reset the router using double-tap on the black button - no luck. I could not figure out how to start up the Vera-related processes (DCERouter, etc) to see if it was just a problem with the initial job(s) not kicking off.

Hi.

I had the same problem.

My error was beliving a static IP didn’t matter when upgrading.

Here is what Aaron told me to do from a prompt:

cd /tmp
wget http://download.controlmyhouse.net/betafirmware/ftp/wl500gP-1.0.710.trx
mtd -r write wl500gP-1.0.710.trx linux

After that I was up and running.

Giving it a shot… I feel stupid though - trying this after having spent the morning re-learning *nix commands and poking all over the place - why am I doing this again!!!

Wish me luck…

Nope… it came up as 710 ok, but with no devices. So I tried to restore a backup, and it went back to “Cannot retrieve user data” after it reset.

Back to 602 again…

you can’t restore a 602 backup in a 710 version.
In 710 there is no more DCERouter and ZWave it’s just Luup
