so those who use leviton scene controllers know they haven’t worked properly with vera in years. you can’t make scenes for them with the tab anymore and you must now uses scenes with triggers. but also the dimmer rocker button stopped working now also when vera support has you load an activated and deactivated trigger on each button. today i added another scene controller to my island. i was testing and found out something. if i only put one trigger on each button then the dimmer rocker works again!
so i made a trigger to turn a load on button 1. made a trigger to turn off that same load but on button 2. dimmer still works. but if u put each of those triggers on one button as an activate and deactivate trigger nothing.
so with having 2 scene controllers in the area for the 4 loads i have around my island i can now have a “on” trigger for each load. the other controller does an “all on” trigger, a night trigger, an entertain trigger, and an “all off trigger” i still have dimmer capability for the scene i’m on. if i want o dim to another load i just hit the individual load and can change the dimming and not affect the other loads cause the trigger is for one load only.
i’m finally happy. i have my dimming of loads and scenes all in one place again finally.
the switches the individual loads are in a cabinet in the kitchen cause i didn’t want 4 dimmers cut into my island. figured one scene controller was enough, but it wasn’t cutting it so we cut in a second and now all is well. still better than having 4 dimmers and a scene controller cut into custom cabinets.
