Leviton Scene Controller - HELP

Leviton - VRSC1-1LX
Vera 2 - running 1183

I am trying to add a Leviton scene controller on the wall and would like it to control a lamp module behind my couch. After reading most of the threads I believe I have everything setup correctly.

I have included the scene controller into Vera and everything is recognized as expected. I have setup a scene for the lamp module “ON” and another for “OFF”. I have associated these scenes under the “scenes” tab in UI4.
Here is where it get’s messy…
After I finish all those steps, I press the “Save” button and Vera runs through the configuring zwave devices but stops on the Scene Controller and says “Node Reports Busy” in blue which turns to red after a few minutes.

I have tried to go through all the steps again and use the “Configure Node Right Now” button under the scene controller which runs through all the steps but the scene controller has never once turned on or off the lamp module. The scene works fine if I run it in in the dashboard but has never worked with the Scene Controller.

I read the Wiki and I’m not sure if the Wiki is outdated (my guess) but the events it says to create were AUTO_GENERATED under the scene once I was able to get the controller configured. I tried to enable this and also tried to create my own event but nothing seems to work. I have tried everything I know and could use some help.

Hi Micheal

I recently added a Leviton scene controller of type “VRCSS” (4 button) and finally got it to work after considerable work. I’m not sure what state your setup is in but here is what I did to get it to work.

  • First ensure that your Vera2 unit has the most up-to-date MiOS and Zwave software loaded. MiOS is currently at 1.1.1230 and the zwave software is 3.72. If you have zwave software 2.8, there is some steps you have to go through to upgrade all that. If you don’t know how to do all this, contact MCV support and they will help you upgrade.

  • After upgrade, fully reset the Leviton scene controller via the instructions. This entails holding the first and third buttons until the LEDs blink red at least twice, indicating unit is fully reset.

  • Then re-associate the controller to vera2. Latest MiOS software has some device file improvements as well as ensuring vera remains primary controller.

At that point, you should be able to associate scenes with button on/off actions, and everything should be working.
