So I’ve just added the Leviton DZS15-1LZ to my Veraplus. It’s a switch in my daughter’s room that normally controls an outlet right next to the switch. Makes zero sense that the electrician would wire it this way, but whatever. In order to rectify this situation, I installed the switch and then dropped in an Aeon Labs smart switch/outlet on the other side of the room. The idea being that when she flips the switch in her room, the lamp on the other side of the room will turn on.
Anyway, I created the two On/Off scenes using the two devices, but it only works when i run the scene or flip the switch through the application interface. It does not work when I just turn on the switch in the room.
On = Turn on Switch then outlet turns on
Off = Turn off Switch then outlet turns off
I will also note that when i turn the switch on or off from the switch (hardware) it does not register on the VeraPlus. I’m guessing this is the problem.
Dangit. That’s what I was afraid of. Thanks Z-Waver. I thought all Levitons were instant status. So, I’m guessing there aren’t any switches that have instant status at Home Depot.
It has been reported that the new [url=http://amzn.to/1PXgGOO]Dragon Tech WS-100 Z-Wave Plus - Wall Mount On/Off Switches[/url have Instant Status, but I have not confirmed this as yet.

Thanks again, Z-Waver. I like the look of the Cooper switch a little better (the Leviton always looks like it’s “On”). Added bonus…free same day shipping from Amazon. ;D
With the Cooper you canon just direct associate the switch to the outlet so you don’t even need to set up scenes the switch can directly controll the outlet. Just add association group 1 then associate the outlet to the switch.
Unless you want this switch to run scenes for any other reason, association is actually the best solution. It will work regardless of the status of the vera.
If you also include the vera in the association you can get a form of instant status which is better than nothing. (It doesn’t always work but I use this and 95% of the time I get 1-2 second response)
In my opininon it is the other way around. None of my switches support instant status but they do support association.
With instant update, the association is not so necessary but a switch without either is almost useless.
@magnum003
Why do you still need the scene to control the outlet from the switch. Why not just control the outlet directly. (unless of course the wall switch also controls a ceiling light and you want them both to operate together.

Mainly need the scene to show my wife that I can work the switch from my phone. The switch controls two lights. One small light on a dresser right next to it and the other one connected to the smart energy switch.
If the switch is not triggering your scene at all, do a quick check to ensure it’s being polled. One of my Leviton DZS15-1LZ oddly defaulted to not being polled when I installed it.
Under settings for the switch, ID6 Poll this node at most once every X seconds (0=never poll, blank=default). The switch for my outside lights wasn’t triggering it’s scene and so I had to do some looking as to why. It was set to 0, so it wasn’t getting polled.
Instant is nice, but you might not need to replace that switch quite yet.
