Hi guys, I have an issue with Kwikset Z-wave locks. I have Ezlo hub, locks added. I can control them from the app and they update status in the app. However, when I manually lock or unlock the lock, status will not update in the app.
Is there special setting I am not aware of that needs to be set before I get updated status after manual operation? I am coming from different Z-wave gateway and I did not have to do anything to get status updated where it was lock/unlock manually vs app or third party automation software.
Hi JonathanB, I thought the Ezlo Plus should update automatically after reboot/powercycle? I am new to Ezlo and I have two Ezlo Plus hubs. I have noticed there are on different firmware versions.
You can sure update it, but I would like to understand:
how you are able or enable the update
Why one Ezlo Plus would update automatically and the other one would not…
Is that why I can’t see updates when manually operating locks?
This serial number was not previously flagged for an update, but it is now. Please power cycle your Ezlo Plus to initiate the firmware update. The LED will begin blinking purple and then the device will restart.
While I can’t guarantee this will resolve your issue, it’s the first step in the troubleshooting process.
Hi JonathanB, I have rebooted the Ezlo Plus in question and I am on firmware v. 2.0.59.2759.8
I tried to power cycle the other Ezlo hub to see if it would update to same firmware version and it is still on 2.0.50.2444.3. Do you have to manually enable firmware update for each unit on your end every time?
That said, the issue with manual operation and status not updating in the app remains for me after the update.
It also happens to me every now and then that the firmware is not updated and I wonder why that is and how it can be improved.
Perhaps it would be good to add a button to search for updates. It would also be best to add a checkbox to indicate whether it can be a beta version.
We have flagged your other controller for an update to the latest version. Please reboot the controller and wait for the purple light to indicate that the update is in progress.
