Kwikset Deadbolt Lock Questions.....

I just installed a new kwikset Deadbolt lock. I have a couple of questions about its functions with a VL.

In the device dashboard when I pull up the Kwikset, I see it shows 40% battery life. It never went down for my first set of batteries. Even when I install new batteries it showed 40%.
Q. Is this normal?
Q. Is the battery lever indicator accurate?

Sometimes I enter my code and everything works normally. Sometimes I enter my code and the keypad glows red and It emits a long beep, both for about a second.
Q. Is this because it was unable to get a response from its signal to my vera?
Q. If not what is the cause of this?
My VL is only 15 feet away from this lock. If distance and signal transmitting is the cause of this obviouse error, how do I fix it and make it communicate every time?

Thanks
Jamr

I find that the battery meter is sometimes off on mine. Not sure if there is a fix for it. It didn’t move for a long time from 100% then went down to 80%. Not sure how accurate it is.

Mine always sows 40% now or old batteries on any display device.

Anyone else having similar experience or are we in the minority?

I’ve had mine for almost 2 years and the battery level readings are fairly accurate. Can’t complain.

Mine is still very un accurate.

Sent from my second brain… Okay it is the only one working.[/quote]

We’re you ever able to get a solution for the battery life problem? I have a lock that seems to be eating batteries quite quickly as well. Thanks!

I had to get Kwikset to replace mine. It took over a month for them to send me a new one. The old one had a electrical contact problem. The new one seems to be working better and longer battery life. I am hoping it will not fail like the first.

I am not recommending the Kwikset any more for my clients.
