Maybe someone more experimented that me with the Kiwkset door lock can answers that question.
From time to time, not all the time but often, when pushing the lock button on the external keypad, there is a short audible alarm and all button lights turn red for a few seconds. I suppose that it means something like “we don’t think that the door is well locked”, but it is.
Is it caused by a bad adjustment I made at the time of the installation ? Any idea ?

my kwikset is locked. when i arrived and it is dark, i push the lock button very briefly and all buttons will light up. now i can see all the buttons and i can enter my pin.
Usually indicates that you’ve enter wrong pin or did more that three times. Usually if you select the lock button, you will get green lights so that you can see the keypad lite. Also you can get red lights if the bolt can’t extend (mis-alignment) with bolt hole.
I’m talking about pushing the lock button when getting outside, in order to lock the door.
Yes it could be a signal of misalignment, but the dead bolt seems to work freely.
Anyone aware of some adjustments to be made ?
I know dumb answer, but did you check the batteries? ??? (no offense)
Not offended. Someone has to ask.
Full batteries.
