Has anyone used the new kwikset 914 lock? I added it to the zwave network and can control it. However, when I assign pin codes they do not work. Also, do you know what Zwave chip is require for the 914?
After contacting kwikset they informed me that the 914 lock has a different motherboard and RF(zwave) daughter card. Therefore, the zwave daughter cards from the older generation locks (910/912) will not work on the 914 lock. The daughter card is not available for sale, you need to buy the lock.
I have the same problem with the 914 and have spent most of the day troubleshooting with no success. Does the difference in motherboards mean that the PINs cannot be set via Vera? Or at least not using the default DoorLock schema?
I am using Kwikset 914 and have no problem for adding a new pin. It is working perfectly for me. My battery is still 100% after 2 weeks of usage.

It looks like the Kwikset 914 uses zigbee not z-wave. Zigbee is a competing protocol to z-wave and will not currently work on vera. See:

This is FALSE!
If you see the picture it has zwave logo. If you read the installation instructions it gives directions for bith zwave and zigbee. So this is kwicksets first dual control lock. This is also why the OP says that the old zwave only cards from like the 910 will not just plugin and work on the 914.
Currently its the only model with both zigbee and zwave cards and the cards alone are not available yet for sale. Your only option today is if you want a 914 buy a 914 not a 913 and look for a card.
