I was exploring a way to automate locking my Kevo deadbolt lock from Vera, and wanted to get some feedback. First, I know for now Kevo is a closed system. There was some buzz last year that there might be a home automation bridge, but I haven’t heard anything more on that. I have their Kevo Gateway Plus, which allows me to connect from the internet to the device, which is a start. What I really want to do, is make sure when the alarm system arms, Kevo makes sure the deadbolt is locked as well. I know there are other deadbolts, that are z-wave compatible, but I really do like the convenience of Kevo in general.
A possibility that I am contemplating is that I set up Homebridge on a Raspberry Pi, and there is a homebridge-kevo plugin for it. You can actually lock the door using Siri, so with that, there should be my entry to automation. Has anyone used Homebridge to automate tasks triggered by events/triggers in Vera? If so, how did you go about doing this?
