I am trying to setup IR codes with an iTach WF2IR device. I am not having much success - here is what I have tried:
I have the GC100 device setup and pointing to the correct IP address.
-
I tried going to the Add Device/Add IR Device, Guided Setup. I get the “Please Wait” barber pole and it just sits there and won’t do anything else.
-
I tried the same as above but using the manual setup but I don’t understand what it means by codeset(s). I have used iLearn to get the GC and HEX version of the ir code but I am not sure what I am suppose to put into this field.
-
I tried doing a manual install using the directions here: http://www.vesternet.com/resources/application-notes/apnt-68#.U9yPH1bn1OT. When i get to the last step of testing everything seems to be there but I get a “Device not ready” message.
Any help on any of the above 3 issues would be greatly appreciated.
Quick update on this - specifically item #2.
Figured out the codeset but when I add it I again just get the barber pole. I eventually did a refresh and the device shows up but when I go the AV page and select the remote I get an odd URL “undefined/remote/(then something else that I don’t have in front of me)” Of course the browser can’t find the server “undefined.”
Seems like something is broke in the IR setup…
Thanks for any help.
There are a number of old threads which deal with various issues encountered e.g http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php?topic=9357.45
Google is you best friend to search site forum.micasaverde.com gc100 or similar searches will assist in isolating a number of threads
I have already read through every thread I could find on it without any luck. Has anyone experienced the lockup when trying to use either the automatic IR config or the manual IR config?
Also, can someone give me the url address that the icon for the little remote (under AR devices) should be pulling up. That might provide some clue…
The little remote icon is a function that is not implemented and you need to manually modify the code set XML file.
So once I get my codeset installed (ignoring for now the fact that I have to refresh the browser because the barber pole doesn’t go away) what si the easiest way to test it out?
Use the icon to the left of the remote icon from Devices > AV Gear. I must admit, it has been an extremely long time since I looked at this as I do not use it.
Finally got it to work by downgrading to UI5.
Very good, I suppose it was a question I should have asked up front. For another person, I created the file and sent them the code set as they were on UI6… and didn’t want to downgrade.
I’m having the exact same problem as bkmar1192, also on UI6, and would rather not downgrade.
I followed the same instructions at http://www.vesternet.com/resources/application-notes/apnt-68#.U-UAdfldWqE
Everything works fine until the testing step, where I can see and click on my device, but I have no options other than the urn:micasaverde-com:serviceId:HaDevice1 options (which I see all devices have), and if I click on those i get “ERROR: Device not ready”.
I don’t know if I’ve overlooked something silly in my device files, or if there’s something that needs to be different for UI6 that’s not particularly documented yet, or something else. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
There is a bug in ui6 which is an issue for anyone using it currently.
Wrt denon, there is an app to control their receivers see MiOS Apps.
Looks like you got it working and your issue was just the bug in UI6 mentioned before. I have UI5 and have done this exact same thing with success but only after a LOT of troubleshooting and tinkering.
For anyone else landing on this page that is trying to figure out how to make the Vera control the iTach, I wrote a guide that should help…
Let me know if you have any questions.
