Without providing any information on how the triggers are set up or any of the logic, you’re not likely to get much help. I can only guess at how you have things done and, if you went about the straight forward method of doing it the first time, you’ll likely have to redo a bit in order to get it to function the way you want it to. You have to make sure first that your condition is looking for ARMED/TRIPPED and not just TRIPPED. If it’s just looking for tripped, you’ll get the behavior you’re experiencing…
Hope that helps, but without any more information, it’s all I can really offer.
I have basic scenes set to trigger the doorbell and send a notifications whenever the sensor senses a door or window is open. One of these scenes on the back patio door has an additional delayed function of shutting down the AC if the door is open more than 5 minutes and turning the AC back after 5 minutes of it being closed. I use the delay to prevent the AC Compressor from being in condition where the start capacitor is overloaded.
The thing is that we don’t necessarily want these tied to any particular times in general but want them to be off (except turning the AC off / on for the rear slider) when we are home and the Vera is set in the Home Mode. In any other mode, we want the sensors to trigger the doorbell and the notification.
Attached are a few screen shots of my set up. I’m wondering if I need to have them set to not run in the home mode but that doesn’t seem to make sense since I have the sensors disarmed.
Are you using scenes tied to the sensors? If so add a schedule to the scenes. I disable my door chimes the hour after my kids goes to sleep.
For something fancier, go with PLEG and multiple schedules.
I’m not sure how to do this.
