If i am only using the DLNA renderer (a Rocki device) for Vera to play mp3s and for vera to do TTS with scenes (so only vera is controlling the Rocki and i am not doing any interactive control of it with UI5 or anything else) do i need the UPnP Event Proxy plug-in, or will the DNLA plug-in work perfectly fine for me without it (perhaps i set the DLNA device to auto update state every hour just to make sure the Rocki has not fallen off the network)? Thanks.
Without the event proxy, the plugin will poll data every 15 seconds.
I have not myself tested the plugin without the proxy but it should work.
But I don’t see any advantage to not use the proxy.
