Is UI7 stable enough for upgrade?

Hi! I’m running UI5 on a Vera3. Not too many devices (South Africa’s a ‘bit’ behind) and it seems that most of my devices are UI7 compatible (according to Vesternet Compatibility Guide).
Is it time to upgrade to UI7?
Any info on the new Vera Controllers (in addition to the Edge) which are due for release 2nd quarter 2015?
Cheers

If UI5 meets your needs … (i.e. all of your devices and plugins are supported) … stay with it!

I just did the switch after waiting for a long time for UI7 to be stable enough.
If the question is about stability, I would say yes.

There are still a lot of bugs but what I got was:

  1. Compatibility for newer devices (like garage door opener)
  2. Easier to use scene builder and interface
  3. Geofence (still not working for me but will keep trying)
  4. Housemodes (would work great in combination with Geofence)

The transition is painful and takes some getting used to though.

UI7 is definitely getting better. I pulled my test Vera 3 running Ui7 into production as my secondary Vera running most of my sensors and stuff. It’s doing a great job at that.

If you are 100% happy with Ui5 and you don’t need eg the geofencing or house modes UI7 offers, by all means stick with UI5 for now.

If you want the additional features that Ui7 offers and your devices and plugins are supported, do consider the migration from UI5 to Ui7.

As said I run both but most likely will start migrating devices from the Ui5 to the Ui7 in the near future. If all works well, I’ll probably upgrade the Ui5 Vera 3 to UI7 as well and probably will run a 2 Vera setup to spread the load.

Thanks for the feedback and advice. I guess I’ll stick with UI5 for a while longer.
