Is there a way to reestablish contact with remote vera?

Hello all

I have a vera3 using ui5 in remote place and have lost contact with it.

I have talked to micasa folks and they need to have remote assistance set up to be of any use to me.

I have attached the dash board screens I get when logging in with this unit and the screen I get when starting the remote assistance from the micasa site.

Talking with micasa rep, he indicated vera is talking with their servers daily and doing backups but I cant do anything with it and I cant go to the unit there.

I did get a person to turn the power off both the router and vera for 30 sec or so and reenergize but there was no difference.

Is there another method I could use to make contact with the vera ?

Do you have VPN access or remote access to a computer at that location? If you answer is no and neither you or VERA can communicate remotely then no. Remotely your stuck.

Logging in locally might be the next step is that even works.

I have my Vera3 hooked up to a Wemo remote switch. I can reboot it at any time as long as the network is up. I was having an issue where the Vera would just stop doing anything. I think it was a Plugin that was running a muck and causing the unit to not allow remote access. Anyway, I was doing a lot of programming on it at work and it was having issues. One Wemo later and a nice hard reboot and we are good to go.

Well since he had someone there unplug the unit for 30 sec and plug it back in. My guess is a Wemo wouldn’t work in this case.

I used to have the same problem with Vera2/UI5 and managed to ssh into it and run scenes: http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,16165.0.html. Now I’m on Vera Lite/UI7 and I have it on a timer that power cycles it every 24 hours. So when it is down it is usually resolved within 24 hours.

He already had someone unplug and plug it back in or power cycle it.
