Is it possible to rebuild a z-wave network without starting over?

I’ve been using a VeraLite (on UI5) for about a year now, and generally, things have been great. I’ve built my network up to about 25 z-wave devices, and I’m using a bunch of plugins including PLEG, DSC Alarm Panel, MultiSwitch, GCal3, Event Watcher, MultiString, and WakeupRamp. Thanks to everyone on this forum for providing such great resources to help me do this.

Recently, however, my VeraLite has begun randomly locking up and rebooting. For example, activating my “bedtime” scene (which sets about 15 lights and arms the alarm) seems to cause a lockup/reboot before the scene is done executing about 75% of the time. The reboot happens at other times as well (probably 20+ times a day), with no decipherable pattern.

I think that my z-wave network is hosed and that is causing the lockup/reboot problem. Reasons: I have added and removed many z-wave devices; sometimes things got added and deleted properly, other times I had to make multiple attempts to add/remove things to get them to function. My heal report shows zero stars for all devices. My z-wave settings show a last update of 31-DEC-1969. Certain devices continue show up in the UI, despite the fact that they have been deleted. I’ve had to backup/restore the network several times. I used the hack to convert 2.78 to 3.20.

My instinct tells me that its time to wipe my Vera and start over. That will be a painstaking process. So, before I do that, does anybody know if there is a way to rebuild the z-wave network (i.e., exclude everything, wipe out all the z-wave configuration, and re-include everything) other than by doing it manually?

Is there something else I should try first?

My instinct (actually my past experience) tells me your probley running out of RAM and starting to see those early signs. I have had to upgrade two LITE’s to edges for this reason. Once you start running a few plugins ( I think I had like 6 or 7) it quickly maxes out the Lite. Majority of the ram is used by the OS leaves a little left for plugins. If you move up to a bigger vera you’ll have that little left over plus 128GB of extra (256 total ram).

Shortly after I started to have the problems your describing it got worse where it would no longer save right before the crash. So after a crash and restart all my devices would return to a previous state of several hours ago or maybe even a day ago. So home any away multiswitches would now show I’m away even tho I had been home for hours.

Anyways you can try and repair a few things, but removing some plugins would likely help you the most or upgrading to something with 256gb of ram would be a better long term solution.

Thanks for the reply.

Event Watcher reports that I have 17336kB of free memory. I’ll try removing a plugin or two and see if it has any effect.

That would be my guess as well. That many plug-ins would do it to a VeraLite. I was forced to upgrade to a Vera3…
