Radio Shack is currently selling a GE45603 and looking at the pictures it looks identical to the RP200. I am wondering if they are from the same manufacturer.
Does anyone know what the capability code is for the Beam I think it’s called that wakes up the lock properly?
I may pick up some of the stuff that they are selling to try it out, worst case I remove it from the network and return it.
Not yet I haven’t. Waiting on some money to get them to find out. I will definitely post my experiences with them. The best part about it is, if I don’t like them or they don’t “Just work” I can return them and not be out anything but some hassle.
I’ve sent an email to my contact at Jasco products about this. I just got the outdoor z-wave module for testing and on the outside of the package it said “compatible with the Schlage LiNK” - I assume it does infact support the beam and hope to hear back tomorrow, I’ll let you know
Was it on the front or the back of the package? I found pictures of the packaging (front only) but couldn’t find it. To sick right now to goto radio shack to look.
Front of the package, bottom left I believe. Keep in mind I got mine directly from Jasco/GE for a review and testing, so most likely it’s a new rev. This pic below doesn’t show it, but mine said “Schlage LiNK” compatible, etc on it. Sorry but I tossed the plastic bubble packaging.
Word back from Jasco says “YES, these products support beam”
I was at RadioShack last night and saw a black round sticker in the bottom left of the package on the OUTDOOR MODULE and the APPLIANCE MODULE they had and they both say something about “compatible with Schlage LiNK”
My contact at Jasco said that you can also identify which ones support it by the back packaging. Versions 2.0a and 3.0a do support beaming and the firmware is printed on the back of the units. I checked my OUTDOOR MODULE and its 2.0a
Hope this helps, this explains why there are only GE products with the Schlage LiNK stuff at the shack, looking forward to seeing more devices/modules support the “beam”
Here is a snapshot of some GE/Jasco products I recently received for a review. These show the firmware version to look for 2.0a or 3.0a and the sticker on the front that says it’s compliant with Schlage LiNK
