After much searching I Was finally able to get the software patch from Intermatic to make this work.

They’ll send you a dongle and the software to upgrade you units. walk you through the entire process and finally upload to Vera Edge. Outstanding!!!

Took about 20 minutes to perform the upgrade and no time to set the heat pump and circulating pumps into scenes. Control lights as well from the PE953. Now the PE653 remote is a paper weight. All control is on my phone! 8)

Which software patch are you referring to? I have had a ticket open with Vera for a few weeks now where my PE653 worked great on the 3.3 firmware but Vera made a change and it would become unresponsive after a few weeks leading me to exclude and include again. This lead Vera to tell me to update the firmware to 3.4 which broke everything completely and this was their final response:
Subject: Intermatic PE-653 Multiwave no longer responding AUG 08, 2017 | 10:49AM PDT Alex B replied: Hello again Jason,The final decision always belongs to the end user. And I think it is natural for everybody to pursue the product that fits best his needs.
I am sorry that our Vera controllers could not do the job for you, but unfortunately we do not support that device anymore.

Wow! My Veralite failed and I had to replace with a VeraEdge. Wasn’t able to copy from the Veralite as it lost the ability to communicate via LAN. I plan on updating the pool controller software to the latest level and the having it joined to Vera once again. Is that not a possibility now? Pool control is one of the most important reasons I have Z Wave.
Can the pool be controlled outside of my Wi-Fi umbrella? in other words, is there a way to control the easytouch from my office?
If you want to control an Easytouch you need the Intellitouch/Easytouch plug-in. Do a search on this on the forums and you will find it. You need an autelis unit but yes you can control your pool from anywhere.
