Intermatic CA3750 Owners - Power Loss

So i’m planning on getting a CA3750 for my water heater and have a couple questions regarding power loss.

If the unit is “on” and providing power to the water heater, what happens when a power outage occurs and then restored?

Opposite question, what happens when unit is “off” and power outage occurs?

You know I have never tested mine. I have 2 of these for 2 different water heaters.

I know for a fact if off and power goes off, when power is restored the unit will still be off.

And From what I have read (but not tested) if it is on and power goes out it will still be off after power is restored. This can be fixed with a VERA scene or PLEG tho, but that’s what I read will happen.

Good news about when off it stays off when restored. If it also stays off when it was on, it’s not the end of the world, but any chance you can confirm this?

If no one chimes in in the next day I’ll go flip some breakers with it on and see what happens.

Off is off. When a power outage occurs, is unit does not retain state. If you want it to restore power you need a scene and trigger. This is already documented in the forums.

Annoyingly, the CA3750 does not retain state. When power is lost it defaults to OFF.

If power is lost the CA3750 will remain OFF until it is turned back on, either manually or via Z-Wave.
