I’ve spent the last hour reading through posts on this forum related to using an existing hard wired system but couldn’t find anything super helpful.
I have a hardwired home security system (Networx NX-6v2) that I would like to connect zones to a Z-wave door/window sensor (either the Ecolink or Monoprice). Both have external switch terminals on the board. I would like to continue using the existing system/panel, I just want to take advantage of the notifications when the reed switch for a zone is flipped.
I found this post (http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php?topic=24143.0) which sounds like exactly what I want to do, except that application is for smoke detectors. Just the window/door reed switches that are already installed. Would the same concept of using a relay apply here? Or is there another simpler method that I’m overlooking?
