I have to ask this question and please forgive me if I am not an expert in this area…
Could I use this pentair product and your plugin to automate a Hot Tub (not a pool) and all its advanced functions? I am asking because I found the Intermatic PE953 product which I am investigating at the moment.
Thanks in advance.
This depends on the type of gear that is in your hottub. This plugin integrates with Pentair Intellitouch, EasyTouch, SunTouch, and Compool controllers through an Autelis device which converts the RS-485 signal into HTTP calls.
I essentially gave up since I do not have that hardware. The data structure that comes back from Jandy is slightly different with the Aqualink but it pretty much does the same thing with circuits and functions. Someone with the hardware and a small understanding of LUA could make the device types work with the Jandy controller. What I found with the Pentair gear is that there is an incredible amount of automation that can be performed.
Ah. OK. Thanks for letting me know.
I guess I can take a stab at it (though my LUA skills are almost non-existent).

Did you ever take a stab at it??
I too would like to use Autelis with Vera to control my Jandy system and in this post in another thread it was indicated that it was possible with this plugin but now I’m not so sure.

***** UPDATE *****
There are some differences with the Jandy Aqualink Autelis device. I am investigating modifying the plugin to support all the features on the Jandy device. I will be posting a release later this week for Pentair which adds icon states for all created devices and fixes the labels that were moved in the latest firmware.

Thank you for starting this up again as I don’t have any understanding of LUA at all.
Hi all, I’ve been working with many other folks to come up with a standalone app that can control/talk to Intematic, Pentair equipment (Intelliflow/Intellitouch/pumps), Aquarite salt cells, etc. Come check it out either as a supplement to Autellis or standalone controller. https://github.com/tagyoureit/nodejs-Pentair. It works over RS485 and we have good momentum currently with many people contributing. It should not be hard to extend it to write a plug-in for Vera or other HA platforms (I’m planning on extending it to Alexa and Siri shortly).
I’ve got it working most of the time but am having some issues with two-way comms due to an Autelis configuration issue.
I’ve installed the ISY/Vera firmware but when I select ‘ISY/Vera’ from the main Autelis menu and enter my Vera IP address, port number (3480) and plugin device number the details won’t save. I press the ‘save’ button repeatedly but when I return to the ‘ISY/Vera’ screen my details have reverted to ‘!DEF’.
I’m hoping that someone can tell me what I’m doing wrong. I’ve also posted on the Autelis forum.
Autelis support suggested re-installing the firmware and selecting ‘force upgrade’ during the installation process. I did this and it solved the problem.
I’ve got a Pentair Intelliflo VS variable speed pump with Paramount PCC2000 in-floor cleaning and an Astral Pools Viron 350 gas heater, all controlled by a Intellitouch i9+3 control panel. I can control it all remotely via Vera/Austelis (and your plugin of course!) and the Screenlogic app.
Chemicals and solar heating operate separately, although my Vera also controls the solar pump via a z-wave smart switch.
Just wondering if this plugin (or a portion of it) will work with the Screenlogic protocol adapter instead of the Autelis? They do the same thing, correct? Or is the protocol totally different? I would think similar if in the long run they are talking to the same equipment. I am new to my pool equipment after recently moving. I have the Screenlogic and although I read online many people have issues with them, mine works flawlessly (even with Alexa). I would just rather doing the scheduling and monitoring through Vera, rather than the Screenlogic.
The end result is the same. However, ScreenLogic is really not a protocol it is another control panel. What the Autelis unit does is bridge the RS-485 protocol that ScreenLogic and all other Pentair control panels use to talk to the personality board in your Intellitouch, EasyTouch, or SunTouch panel with a web interface. In other words, the Autelis unit is just like buying an indoor control panel with the LED user interface being replaced by an HTTP user interface.
@rstrouse
Thank you for the reply. So if I understand correctly, your plugin should work with the Screen Logic protocol adapter as well as the Autelis. I installed the plugin in Vera and it does stay “connected and ready” after suppling the local ip address of the adapter but it doesn’t seem to be working beyond that. The configuration panel says “unknown panel” with a date time stamp from 1969. I have rebooted Vera and same result. My Pentair controller is the IntellTouch i5s (f/w 1.100) with the screen logic protocol adapter version (POOL: 5.2 build 733.0 Rel). Any insight into getting this to work is greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately, the connected and ready response is simply because the ip address did not refuse the connection. The screen logic HTTP interface is closed and with the exception of a few integrators, Pentair has decided that it will not release it. I apologize if my response was confusing but there is no way for the plugin to communicate with the ScreenLogic adapter. However, the Autelis control panel as well as the ScreenLogic control panel are designed to co-exist.
Ah… ok… thank you for the clarification. It looks like you have done a nice job on the plugins, so well done I don’t want to shell out the $$$ for the Autelis at the moment but if the screen logic adapter fails on me I will definitely consider it
Hello everybody, I’m using v2.1 of the Pentair Pool Control Plugin for Autelis. Does anybody know if this plugin is still supported / being enhanced? Most of the posts I’ve seen are from 2015.
Just wondering what kind of ongoing discussions there might be able it as I just configured it with my pentair system and Vera Plus controller (doesn’t work so well using the iOS app).
