Instructions how to use Vera 2

New documentation: Your Vera’s has a new user interface released in January, 2010. The screen shots and wiki on micasaverde.com do not apply. The user’s manual for this new user interface is available at http://micasaverde.com/vera2docs or by clicking any of the help or Quick Start icons in Vera’s web page.
Well, after 10 hours of trying to get Vera2 going, I am ready to give up – and now this fake vera2docs … and disconnecting the whole system to carry it arround in order to do pairing - insane? Cannot use Z-wave? I know it is weak - but - … This is not a consumer item - this even brings this pro to the knees.

And the useage of language in descriptions is very confusing - to the point of my inability to guess what the instruction wants me to do. I guess I am going Alzheimer or else.

And why not mark the ethernet ports LAN and WAN – “like normal”.

Is there something we can help you with in setting Vera up?

YEEEEES, please. I begin to think that should have bought HomeSeer. This thing drives me nuts. There is nothing knowable about it and the Wiki is messed up beyond. Nothing can be search in the Wiki; at best I sometimes stumble on the good info but 100% of the time I cannot find the same place twice.
(1) I did setup few sensors, and of course there is no clear explanation of what the rules are; sometimes I know tht something was maybe done right when I see true manufcturer name in the settings.
(2)I have Motion sensor that says lawys alarmed - the red running guy i lways running;
(3) door sensors keeps staying in Bypass and so is the Flood Sensor and of course the red guy is running here too;
(4) what this thing is doing when it communicates that it cannot get information or when it states waiting
(5) Vera2 is forever busy unless I pull the plug on it although sometimes restarting the browser helps.
(6) Vera2 people advise me to buy Insteon 2412U to get X10 under control but it is no longer made and they are not telling if 2413u is good for that. Why do I need to buy $70 Insteon thing to control X10 but I cannot talk to X10 11A or 19A controllers which cost about $10 each?

From my chaotic style you can figure out I am in distress by now. Please take into account that I know nothing about the z-wave or Vera2 implementation only because there is no good well written info about it – otherwise I have enough IQ140 to process nearly any information properly. IS there something you can do to help me?

Lets start by getting one system under control. The Z-Wave.
What firmware are you using?
What devices are you using?
How many Z-Wave devices total do you have?
Remove the Insteon IF you have it installed. Dont have anything plugged into the usb ports.

The triggered sensors (red guy) you are seeing may be a cached display, Hit Ctrl F5 to re-load the page. Does the page refresh and still say server busy and your devices show tripped?

Thank you JOD for the time you spent with me on your lunch time. It helped and I am good now - for now. You are great JOD.

Clock works backwards and they know about it.
Cannot access Vera2 from remote location anymore. I did access it one time and never again.
It has great potential - and not much more.
But I cannot see all that potential - since I cannot access it. I can access some other devices on my network - but not Vera2. That’s it for reliability, stability and security. It is not ready for the market yet. Maybe in 3 years at which time it will be obsolete.
I am very disappointed.
