I am using the INNOVUS RAone SmartPower element (euro model). The device is shown as configured and is working for switching on/off. The SmartPower element has a built in electricity meter and I want to send my electricity consumption to findvera.com. It seems that on findvera.com the default 100 watts of the device is taken for calculation. Perhaps there is a way to implement this feature in one of the next firmware releases.
If somebody has found a way how to get the electricity meter working with findvera.com I would be very happy if you can post it here.
We’re really swamped right now on some big changes for the new UI, so I haven’t had a chance to look into that. However, a real power meter is our holy grail right now since the metering power strip you saw in our video (made by someone else) has hit some snags. Do you know if we can get a U.S. version? If so, I’ll move it high on the priority list. Maybe we can even offer it in our web shop.
I’m really interested in this powermeter thing, because I’m about to order those switches (an dimmers → RAone SmartDimmer) for my whole home. So my question is:
@MCV: Can Vera handle powermeters information already (especially the INNOVUS RAone SmartPower and SmartDimmer (euro version) or is it still in progress?
I, too, would like to know whether Vera can currently interoperate (natively) with any of the recent Smart Meters, who (I hear) broadcast using Zigbee wireless, not Z-Wave. (Zigbee is much more similar to 802.11 Wi-Fi.)
Perhaps the plan would be for Vera to be connected to some “indoor monitor” like the one that comes with TED (The Energy Detective) 1xxx or 5xxx series?
I’m glad someone asked, as I’ve been wondering for a while.
Today my switches and dimmers from Innovus arrived
It was like x-mas. New toys! I built them into my waterbed, TV, floorlights, etc. very nice till this point… but now I have to ask you guys (especially you mhn, because I know you own some of those dimmers/switches) if your switches and dimmers from Innovus make a highfrequent noise all the time, too? Every single unit I connected to the powerline makes this sound. It’s matches nearly exact the sound when you go pretty near to an old CRT-TV.
However, if you experienced similar problems, it would be great to let me know.
Hi!
I can confirm that my innovus power meter works, and the power meter works also (
But I can’t manage to configure ‘protection’.
It seems to be the zwave capability #117 : here is the quote from the manual:
Protection
Supported command class version is 1. The protection command class makes it possible to protect the
device against local operation. For instance to keep a child from operating the device.
The Protection State can be changed using Protection Set, possible states are Unprotected (0x00),
Protection by Sequence (0x01) and No Operation Possible (0x02). The default state is Unprotected.
When protected by sequence the device won't react to local operation unless protection is temporarily
disabled. This is done by a tripple click on the device. The device can then be operated normally for
10 seconds.
Protection only stops operations that turn the device or associated devices on or off, not Z-Wave
specific actions like for instance entering learn mode.
I’ve tried to add Configuration settings, but it did not work (btw i’m not sure it’s related to configuration settings…)
I’ve also tried, under the Advanced tab of the device to add a new ‘service, variable, value’, by entering : Protection, 117, 01
It adds a new line in the advanced tab, but (after a ‘configure node right now’ of course), the behaviour of the switch did not change.
Btw, i do not know how to remove this new variable.
Did someone managed to make protection working ?
Thanks,
Regards,
Thomas
