Icons customizations lost on update to 6.1.2

Updated today to 6.2.1 and all the icons I had setup with the previous update were reset back to the default circle one in all of my family’s devices.

Was this only for this update or is this going to happen with every update?

Our Schlage got the old default lock icons and it now shows the correct state.

Same here.

On my door sensors they used to show tripped, armed and disarmed. I can’t see to figure out how to make it work like that again since the 6.1 upgrade. All it showed is armed and disarmed. Any suggestions?

Guys (I’ll reply here rather then the Introduction thread) - I’m really very very sorry about that. They should most definitely NOT disappear after the upgrade. In fact, there was code in there specifically to make sure the existing configuration was updated when the 6.1 upgrade occurred.

I think I’ll hold off the next upgrade to put in something to allow the configuration to be backed up - it’s something I had wanted to do anyway, but I know it’s just not acceptable to have it disappear after all your work to customize  Admittedly I don’t understand yet why it happened. Did I miss something major here, and has this happened for everyone? Anyone here who still had their icon customizations after upgrading to 6.1??

Do you mean the icon isn’t changing to show it tripped? When you go into edit mode for that sensor, do you see the Off/On activated icon states? (And could you confirm the device type?)

Yes, what I’m trying to get is armed, disarmed and tripped. It will show armed disarmed but not tripped. I’m using Aeon hidden door sensors. Yes a am able to see the Off/On activated icon states.

My custom icons also disappeared when I updated.

6.2 (to be released within days) will backup the config before upgrading. I believe it was some config changes which caused this on some users and hence missed in testing.

Ok I think this comes down to the naming not being clear. I’ll fix this in next version. For now:

  • Off: Disarmed, not tripped
  • On: Disarmed, tripped:
  • On (Activated): Armed, tripped
  • Off (Activated): Armed, not tripped.

Basically activated is armed, on/off is whether it’s tripped. Even confusing myself! Let me know if you still think it’s not working…

Ah, that does make all the difference! Thank You
