searched thru the forums, found a lot of helpful info on getting the motion detection feature of the HSM100 working pretty good but i have a different problem. The light and temperature values only seem to update in the vera displays if i press the blue button on the side of the HSM100. Watching the vera displays after that, the temp and light values never change. I have the wakeup interval set to 360 seconds for the 3-in-1 device (HSM100) and i can see that the last wakeup times are updating in vera consistently so it seems like the HSM100 is sending its values every wakeup interval, but for some reason the vera2 seems not to be updating its info. I just got my vera2 and the hsm100 so i dont have any experience with a previous firmware release, i’m running .1245. Thx
I have the same problem and haven’t found a solution yet.
What’s the wake-up interval set to / did you change the defaults for the HSM100, as well as for polling?
i changed default wake up time for the sensor from 1800 to 360 (seconds). I also changed the on-time value (variable 2) from the default of 20 to 5. Other than that, its how it came out of the box.
How is the battery level? Did you try new batteries?
I run both of mine from wall worts so power is not an issue. Wake up is set to 360. When you press the blue reset button the correct values are displayed but these numbers remain in the GUI until the next reset. The motion sensor works fine on both.
Wall Warts? :
I’m assuming that slang for wall plug?
Played with this a bit. Thought I got an update with a value other than 1800, but couldn’t reproduce that. They do seem to wake up. And I thought Vera then has to go in to get the values; but she doesn’t, apparently. Went back to 1800 and that seems to work again. Strange.
Is it working with 1800 for you?
maybe i’m not using the forum posts the right way, i could have swore that someone suggested trying a value of 361 rather than 360, i guess thinking thay maybe there was some issue with using the minimum 360 value. But i dont see that post now. Anyway, i tried it and as expected it changes the value back to 360, probably because i think the wakeup time must be in tenths of an hour (6 minutes, 12 minutes, 18 minutes, etc.). I set it back to 1800, should be able to tell here in a few minutes whether it worked or not.
That was me. Sorry for confusing you. I changed the post around since I couldn’t reproduce it. Interestingly though, I did not see it change back to 360.
probably because i think the wakeup time must be in tenths of an hour (6 minutes, 12 minutes, 18 minutes, etc.). I set it back to 1800,Yep, it's supposedly in .1 hour increments; that's why it's a bit strange that you get to put seconds in. It seems to imply a conversion.
Anyway, I have not had success with 360. 1080 works (besides 1800); it’s more like 16 minutes though.
Could this have anything to do with the Poll setting? I have mine set at zero as per the instructions on the wiki. I don’t seem to be getting regular updates either. Motion sensor works fine though.
I have not had any problem using the wake-up interval setting. I have used anywhere from 360 to 1800 without a problem. It seems to work as desired. It does take a bit of time for the lower setting to respond because I assume it has to wait for the device to wake up to send the shorter wakeup interval to the HSM100. Note that I am still on 1047 firmware as I have read about issues with HSM100s and the 1245 firmware. I have not had the opportunity to test the new firmware.
Same problem here, with 1245 firmware. This is the first device inclueded into my network, so I’m very confused with this problem.
Is someone meet same problem or have find a solution ?

This device needs to be polled.
The wake up interval is the open door for Vera to go in and poll the device.
JOD.

Hi JOD. I agree that HSM100 is a ‘passive’ device as it wakeup on “Wakeup Interval” and at this moment Vera had to poll the device for reading temp and lum values.
But I’ve setting the wakeup on 720 sec. and poll device at least each 60 sec. Anyway, temp and lum is not updating until I manually wakeup device using the blue button.
I’m a z-wave’s newbie, and maybe I’m wrong but this look strange for me.
Maybe there are addtional settings to made or v.1245 is the cause.
So yours is stuck and not updating at all?
I’m running this device with .1245 so I dont think the FW rev. is the issue.
Try raising the wake up to 1800 or even 900 and see if it starts reporting.
If it does start reporting again, you can incrementally lower it until it stops reporting.
JOD.
I have my HSMs set to not poll and they get the temp and light fine. They are supposed to wake up and transmit the temp and light automatically. However, I am still on the older firmware (1047)
Same here, my light/temp reports became more reliable the lower I made the polling frequency and eventually I left them set at 0 (never poll) best reliability I’ve had
are you changing the polling frequency in the “light” and “temp” sensors as well as the 3-in-1 part?
no, just change them on the parent device
