How to upgrade to new Linux Firmware on Vera Edge

Dear Ezlo Community,

We would like to inform you about an important update regarding the use of the Ezlo Linux Firmware on the Vera Edge controller.

The Ezlo Linux Firmware build for Vera Edge was introduced as part of our efforts to expand Ezlo’s platform capabilities. However, this specific firmware build is no longer actively developed or updated, and as a result, we no longer recommend upgrading Vera Edge controllers using this firmware.

Recommended Alternatives

  • For the best experience and access to the latest features, we recommend transitioning to Ezlo’s dedicated controllers like the Ezlo Plus.
  • These controllers are designed to leverage the full potential of Ezlo’s firmware and offer enhanced stability, improved device compatibility, and regular updates.

What Does This Mean for Current Users?

  • If you’ve already installed the Ezlo firmware on a Vera Edge, your device will continue to operate as it currently does. However, please note that you may encounter limitations or issues over time due to the lack of updates.
  • If you’re still using the original Vera firmware on your Vera Edge, we recommend continuing to use it or considering an upgrade to one of our Ezlo controllers for a better experience.
  • For those transitioning to a dedicated Ezlo controller (such as the Ezlo Plus), we offer a Migration Tool that allows you to migrate your Z-Wave network for certain types of devices. This tool helps streamline the process of moving from Vera Edge to a newer Ezlo controller. For detailed instructions, please refer to this post: EzLogic 1.61.1 / 2.0.1 Updates.

If you have any questions about the migration process or need assistance transitioning to a new controller, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team or share your queries in the community.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Best regards,
The Ezlo Team
