I have been able to set up my DSC plugin (DSC 1832/Envisalink) and this far, have successfully armed and disarmed my system and even set up automation to turn on a light is a security zone is violated. However, I can’t figure out how to automate the turning on of lights when the system is breeched (goes into alarm). I can’t find the option to get a trigger from the alarm system to turn on the lights when the system is in an alarm state. Does this require a special script?
Not exactly. There will be lots peppered around the forum on using scene and combination with Vera to establish where people have asked for help.
Have a look at the two attachment on this post which provide the general concept of using scene.
There are also a number of plug in which can be used to augment Vera capability such as PLEG, countdown timers, virtual switches. There threads will contain example on how they are used.
I’m not following this thread about setting the trigger against the partition state. ??? I have the DSC plugin working on UI5 v1.5.622. Other then my alarm sensor devices, DSC alarm panel device and DSC alarm arming device I don’t see a device for partition #1. I must be missing something but I didn’t see anything looking like the picture uploaded.
What was uploaded was a picture from the trigger tab of whatever scene you are wanting to run. If you have multiple DSC devices which are the parent device (normally the lowest device #), the partition/s, and the sensors, then you need to select the partition (child) as the trigger, along with the state. The child device (partition) is the one that looks like the lock, and its device # number can be found from its advanced tab.
If you are looking at the DSC devices themselves in your dashboard, then you are looking in the wrong place. like I said, you will only see this in a scenes “trigger” tab!
Looking at the trigger tab of a new scene I’m trying to create; when I add a trigger the only devices in the drop down menu that are related to the DSC alarm itself are only two. The DSC 1832 alarm panel and the DSC 1832 alarm arming. I don’t see the partition like in the image uploaded.
I got it now. I was reading what you were writing but my mind wasn’t grasping the concept. This other picture you posted help. I was looking for for a device called partion1. It wasn’t until I read your post for the fifth time and realized that you wrote the thing that locks like a lock. Thanks again for the help.
I’ve been able to do it using PLEG, using conditions night and alarm. So when day or night states night and DSC is in alarm the ligths turns on, and you can select wich ligths will be involved
