How to set up a custom IR device?

Hi folks!

New VeraLite user here.

I have sort of an oddball A/V processor that I’d like to control using Vera and GlobalCache GC100. The processor is an Emotiva UMC-1. Naturally, if I just go to add an A/V device, Emotiva is nowhere in those drop-down menus.

GC100-12 IR port 1 is connected directly to IR input jack on the A/V processor using a 1/8" mono cable. Using Premise Home Control, I was able to get the GC100 to turn the UMC-1 on and off, change volume and inputs.
GC100-12 is added to the Vera. The 6 IR blaster ports are available in the drop-down menu.

So… what do I do now? Is there a generic “Receiver” XML template where I fill in the make and model, and paste the Pronto codes into? At what point does Emotiva appear in the drop-down list for receivers?

Once you have edited the pronto codes in and renamed the two files to something like I_Emotiva.xml and D_Emotiva.xml, upload them in the apps area > develop apps >luup files area, and then create a device using the file names.

You then just need to associate your IR transmitter from the newly created devices settings tab.
