How to perform a full backup for Vera Plus?

Hi

I had my first bad experience with my controller after the last upgrade to 1.7.3532.

I upgraded an Edge and a Plus to their latest firmwares. The Edge did the upgrade and restarted, the Plus got stuck in a never ending process of rebooting and trying to do the upgrade. After 4 hours I reseted it to factory settings. Luckily I saved a backup for each controller before upgrade.

After the reset the box booted up ok. I restored from backup but I saw that the backup contains only the information about the nodes and even that is not complete. I had to wait over night for the battery powered devices to wake up for configuration to have the network functional again.

For the last two days I am trying to recreate scenes, notifications settings, etc.

Hence my question. How can I do a full backup for the controller, not just the zwave network? I would like have all my configuration saved once I recreate everything, to not go through this again if another upgrade screws the box.

Thanks

This is abnormal. The backup is essentially your user data+your zwave chip data if you backed it up as it is a separate backup mechanism. Did you try to revover from a backup on the vera cloud? It is making automated backup every day. You could try recoveryfrom an earlier file.

Backing up is a 2 step process. First back-up z-wave, and then save the file.

Restore is a 1 step process but you do have to check the restore z-wave box.

As Rafale77 said, what you described is abnormal. When you do a factory reset, it takes a little time to reinstall the plug-ins when restoring, but should be working find in a little while - say 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the number of plug-ins.
