How to pair HUE within UI7

I just got a HUE system. Try to add it within VeraLite UI7 with Add Device HUE. During step 2 when pairing is done the system waits forever. How do i pair the HUE Bridge? Via my phone i can connect and control the HUE lights.

Hi,

Not 100% sure but maybe the direct pairing will be for the new Vera’s that are not for sale yet and suppose to have zigby support as is used by the HUE. HUE does not talk Z-wave so on the Lite or Edge that cannot work.

There is a plugin that can make existing Vera’s talk to the HUE bridge over IP. I guess you have to install that.

Using the GetVera created HUE plugin (Philips HUE by MIOS):

  • Install the plugin on your Vera
  • Make sure your Vera is on the same network as your HUE hub.
  • Make sure your HUE hub is powered on.
  • Find the Philips HUE by MIOS device the plugin created
  • Click the Configure tab and click ‘Pair with Bridge’ button, then immediately press the big button on the HUE hub.

You may have to do the last step a few times until the Link status shows ‘Connected’. After which your HUE devices will show up on Vera.

This is on a Vera 3 with UI7.

- Click the Configure tab and click 'Pair with Bridge' button, then immediately press the big button on the HUE hub.

You should press the big button on the bridge first and then press “Pair with Bridge” button form Configure tab.

Where did you get the official HUE app from? When I search the Apps > Install Apps tab in UI7, I only find an app called “Philips Hue” and nothing about MIOS. Is that the right one?
