The manual is pretty lite? I don’t see a section on pairing…What do i do to pair it?
while the vera is in scan mode turn on the light
I have tried to pair my MiCasa Verde with the GE 45609 with little success. I have 3 installed and difficulty with all. Operating on the 3.2. Should I try 2.78?
You could try an exclude, before an include, to ‘reset’ the 45609. When you watch the Z-Wave LED, does is start blinking really rapidly when you switch the 45609?
Do you have any other Z-Wave devices that work?
Hey, new here, but thought I’d share my experiences.
The GE 45609 switch requires a neutral wire - if the blue LED in the front comes on and the light can be operated manually, you know that the wiring is correct. Contact an electrician if you can’t get this part to work (if you’re not sure, contact an electrician anyways to avoid blowing out a TV or something, like I almost did).
Now pairing - while the manual (and my IRIS kit) seems to indicate that you should press “on” (upward) to engage pairing, in fact I had to press “off” (downward) repeatedly to get it to pair (this after a huge amount of trial and error). Also, if it doesn’t work, leave it alone for a minute, then attempt pairing again (up or down). Also, if possible, moving the hub physically closer can help.
Hope this helped someone.

I agree with “oTi@”.
I have 5 of these and have not experienced any problem when pairing them. Each time I included one I put vera into include mode and then pressed the on and off button on the switch itself a couple of times until I saw vera’s light flashing fast. Once it did that I waited about 30 seconds by the switch I was paring and then plugged vera back in to configure switch.
I have a brand new Vera Lite (1.7.439) and don’t see a 45609 show up in the list of available devices. How is this even possible? Does anybody have experience with either using a different device to get these set up?
BTW, my old version 1 Vera died and the Vera Lite is my replacement. So far, pretty unhappy with the super crappy setup process and zero documentation for the Vera Lite. The original was way better (until it died).

First of all we don’t know what UI you on.
Adding a device is easy and you don’t need to see a list of devices.
Install switch leave vera fully plugged in and in normal spot. Open a web browser and login to vera, click devices, click add device, follow instruction on option 1 ignoring the 3ft. Turn light switch off and on, wait for it to show up.
This works in ui5.
You got a manual! Count yourself lucky! ![]()
