Using a new Vera Edge, I would like to get an email notification whenever the deadbolt is unlocked. What is the most reliable way to set this up?
Is there also any way for it to include in the alert message how the door was unlocked (such as by a specific user’s code punched into the lock’s local touchpad or via the Homewave smartphone app etc.)?

If you want more options than Email … look into the Vera Alerts plugin.
(Various Push Notification options. For Android there is the Vera Alerts companion App, that will speak the alerts. You can also send camera pictures when someone opens the door. For IOS you might look into Push Bullet.
