Since most switches don’t have instant updates how can I tell the system to auto dim the lights if it’s nighttime? I would think I would be able to “catch” the on command and change it before that but since some switches don’t have instant update how can I do this? I guess the other option would be to set them at a certain level (20%) at night and then back to 100% in the morning?
I think you answered your own question.
I believe some Z-Wave switches always turn on with a preset level. And for some of those, this level is always 100%.
Some will turn on with the last set level. Hopefully yours will have that feature. Otherwise you will not be able to change them until you sense there ON status in the next polling interval.
