How to configure Aeon Door Sensor trigger when door closes

Hello,

I have a Aeon-Labs Door/Window Sensor. I was able to correctly configure it with VeraLite so it turns on a light when the door opens (trigger is “Sensor is tripped”)

However, I cannot find how I can configure it so it turns off the light when the sensor is back in place.

Which trigger should I use? Any additional event I can add to the sensor?

Thanks in advance,
Alex

Hi Alex

I have mine setup to turn the lights off again after 4 minutes using the “triggers” option and adding a delay of 4 minutes. By default I think the sensor is configured to not detect movement after it has been tripped for 4 minutes (I could be wrong but recall reading this when I set my device up).

The light is turned on when the motion sensor is tripped and turns off after 4 minutes through the trigger delay I added. Seems to be working OK so far.

Cheers

Scott

I changed my device type to urn:schemas-micasaverde-com:device:DoorSensor:1
and device file to D_DoorSensor1.xml

Then in the triggers section I can select “is tripped” or “is not tripped”

This should trigger when the door is open or closed. Im using one for my garage door and it will trigger a light when the door is opened and then turn it off when it gets closed.

@alexbf,

Welcome!

When you select [tt]A Sensor (door/window/motion/etc.) is tripped[/tt] you can choose between [tt]Device is tripped[/tt] and [tt]Device is not tripped[/tt] (in the list under the trigger name).

Is that what you are looking for?

Thank you oTi@, it worked with your instructions!

I have to say that the trigger interface is a little bit confusing on my device.

@wscotthayes : This advanced device configuration is a little bit obscure to me. However, I am very interested in knowing more about it. Can you point me where can I find documentation regarding advance configuration?

Thanks in advance
Alex
