How to associate second (e2) fibaro switch?

Hi,

I’m using fibaro switches. In Vera they are created as one parent device with two children (e1 and e2).

My question is how to associate a duwi switch with the e2 child device. When I use group - set, and select the child device, Vera still associates with the parent device. How to associate with e2?

Thanks

I’m interested in the exact same thing! Did you manage to find anything on this?

i messed a long time with this and found that you can do it simple.
make a scene with e2 turned on and trigger by on state of duwi
make a scene with e2 turned off and trigger by off state of duwi
i used this idea on my fibaro binary switch which also has 2 child devices with turned on scene ability. but it works also if motion sensor trigger is used.

That will work, but that sorta defeats the whole point of association: the devices talk directly to each other and Vera is not involved.

In my case, I was trying to use e2 as a “virtual/physical” device association. I have a HRT4-ZW thermostat which sends binary set messages whenever the “call for heat (flame)” is turns on/off but you cannot query the state of the thermostat from Vera. If I could associate the thermostat with an e2 device (which nothing is plugged into), I would be able to trigger scenes based on the state of the flame.

Fortunately I have a workaround (which deserves it’s on blog post) which uses an Aeon Labs Z-Stick running a patched (read: nastily hacked) OpenZWave stack running on my RPi

ehm… how about in the association screen selecting the main device and in the field next to it put e2 ?
its sorta like the way it should work
i just bought one and found that it works on 24 v also so its possible to use it between a standard dooropener with intercoms
