How are people using their Powermax and Vera?

Hi,

I’ve just installed Vera and gotten the plugin working with my Powermax Pro.

I was wondering the best way to set this up. I think I want the Visonic unit to remain controlling all alarm functions, with Vera’s only role being turning the alarm on and off. That would seem to mean I can’t use Vera’s “modes” function (which would seem to replace the Visonic box); perhaps I’ll set up a virtual switch for the alarm instead?

Would be great to learn what others are doing…

I have mine so the sensors show up in Vera and the alarm is controlled from the alarm box or it’s key fob. As the sensors show up in Vera I can see if a window or door is open. and if the alarm is set or not. One benefit is as the sensors show up in Vera I can use the viewsonic sensors to trigger scenes, I can turn on a porch light when the outer door is opened if it’s dark, without adding a Z-wave sensor to the door :slight_smile: saves on sensors.
