Honeywell Wi-Fi VisionPro TH8320WF1029 Thermostat integration

I’m contemplating installing the TH8320WF1029 wi-fi thermostat, but I’m not sure if it’s “open” to being used directly, i.e. without going through Honeywell’s remote access service site.

Has anyone played with this unit to see if it can be sent commands (http api commands?) directly to its local IP address, from say a luup program?

Thanks!

Why not get the Z-wave version?

Honeywell YTH8320ZW1007 Z-Wave Programmable Touchscreen Thermostat

You can also find them cheaper elsewhere.

There is listing on Ebay for these for $99.99:

I would but they’re US frequency and I’ve already got an EU Vera. I’d rather avoid running multiple z-wave frequencies and just hook up via luup into a wi-fi thermostat if possible.
