I have an existing Honeywell Lynx Touch 5100 Security System. On that system I have a couple Honeywell/Ademco 5800PIR-RES motion sensors, a few 5816 and 5818MNL door sensors, and a couple 5808W3 smoke detectors. I have a L5100-WIFI communication module in the Lynx Touch for monitoring.
I just purchased a VeraLite and a couple Cooper zwave dimmers. I have the dimmers connected to the VeraLite with no problem. I’d like to integrate the honeywell sensors and/or the security system into the zwave.
First question, can I connect the honeywell/ademco sensors to both the Lynx Touch and the VeraLite? Or can each device only have one zwave controller? If so, how do I activate Pairing Mode on the sensors? I added them to the security system by serial number, and I do not see any instructions for pairing mode in their manuals. Is there a similar feature with the VeraLite to add devices by serial number?
Second question, can I have the VeraLite monitor the status of the Lynx Touch system?
Welcome to the forum. These sensors are not z-wave compatible and will only work with the security system. As for integrating the security system to Vera, I do not believe there is any plugin that allows integration of this alarm system with Vera. I believe the only honeywell alarm compatible with Vera right now is the Vista series. If you do a search on the forum, there have been a few people asking the same question.
Thank you for the quick reply. I wanted to trigger some lighting events off of doors opening etc. It sounds like the cheapest/easiest way to do this would be just to add a few more sensors that are compatible with the VeraLite and keep the two systems isolated. There’s no reason I couldn’t have multiple sensors on a door.
Is anybody working on a plugin for integrating the Lynx that you know of? It has a zwave module that can be installed, and I would guess it could be done.
Unless the alarm panel has some sort of interface (not zwave) to communicate with the panel, it would make it hard to have a plugin developed. Most plugins created are done by the community and by people who own these products. Most of the alarm panels that have a z-wave interface will not allow / expose these sensors with other systems. They are there to add other z-wave devices for control.
Hi
I have lynx 5100 installed. Following observations
Can I integrate lynx 5100 with Vera to control arm and disarm function of lynx 5100 with vera?
1 no. We can’t do it as of now.
Can we run scenes based on arm and disarm of lynx 5100 using zwave devices added to vera?
yes : what you can do is add all all your z wave devices to Vera. Then go in inclusion mode in Vera. Then on lynx 5100 go to automation>advanced tab>programmer code>learn. Lynx 5100 will say : device found, plz wait. Then on ur Vera the orange lite will blink fast as it does while adding new device. Then quickly connect ur Vera back to power and network while ur lynx5100 is displaying device found, plz wait. The Vera will boot up and will exchange security libraries with lynx5100. Now go to to lynx and check under controller u will see Vera secured . Word of caution in here. If u see under controller Vera but it says unsecured then you have missed one of the above mentioned step. Exclude the lynx5100 from Vera by hitting battery button on Vera when blue light on Vera is solid then hit - the orange light will blink fast then lynx under advanced hit learn. After excluding lynx 5100 add again to make sure you have got Vera secured.
Now at this point when the whole process is complete u will see that all ur z wave devices which are associated with vera is now being shared by lynx 5100. Now u can create scenes in lynx5100 based on arm and disarm of lynx 5100 to control z wave devices which are part of Vera network.
Having said all the above plz note that it does not mean that Vera is now a secondary controller. Vera is still primary controller and it can run scenes independently with all the devices that now being shared by lynx5100.
Another observation: if I add a new z wave device to Vera will it automatically be visible in lynx 5100. Answer is no. Why?i don’t know. I will post more observations soon… cheers:-)

First off thanks for the info. I have a question that hopefully you can shed light on. If I go through the steps you listed. Can I unlock the door with my pin or through the vera app and it will disable my alarm? Do I need to setup up the lock with the lynx first then pair the lynx with the vera then setup a sceen on the linx? ??? Thanks
Sorry for digging up this old post, but did you ever get this resolved? I am trying to do the same thing. I have vera set as primary controller and shared the devices with the lynx and the locks show up and I am able to enable the zwave lock control and and the disarm in the lynx settings, but it is not disarming the alarm when the appropriate user code is entered.
Have you tried If This Then That? I think that’s the most likely solution to this problem. They have these things called “recipes” to set off chain reactions. For instance, one “recipe” you can use is if your cell phone alarm goes off before 6am it will automatically turn on the coffee maker. Or you can set it to lock your z-wave door at a specific time. Or you can write your own recipe, doing whatever you want… and it’s simple to do.
