HomeWave 1.70 about to be released

New version about to hit the app store:

  • New Action buttons: these can be added to a control panel to switch to other screens, open other apps, go to the previous/next screen, invoke arbitrary URLs, or send arbitrary lu_action commands to your Vera.

  • Support for the new MiLight RGBW bulbs / plugin.

  • Added an option for lock to only require the PIN when unlocking the door.

  • Fixed issue with iPad camera view on devices on iOS 6 or earlier.

  • Fixed issue with icon selection window that prevented icons to be added to controls.

  • When viewing a camera, Vera will turn on lights (if configured in Vera).

  • Fixed issue with rotation of PIN screen on iPads.

  • Added the option to display an alternative background image for the “on” state to dimmer controls.

Work to support multiple Veras continues in the background (this is a lot of work)

    Awesome, looking forward to it!

Interesting… Tell us more… Especially the last part about sending lu_action commands…

The buttons have 4 modes:

  1. Navigate to a specific HomeWave screen
  2. Emulate the Previous / Next / Home buttons (in case the ones on the status bar are a little too small)
  3. Call a URL: this just calls the exact URL as specified. This can be used to control WiFi enabled equipment, but also to open other iPhone apps that implement a URL scheme.
  4. Send a lu_action command. Takes everything following the lu_action part of the URL as argument. The nice thing about this mode is that it will send this to your Vera using the LAN connection or the MiOS one, as appropriate.

This version now available in the app store!

Gotta love auto-update. Got it, thanks!

Playing with action buttons, and I’m curious about the action buttons. Can you give an example of a lu_action that could be used? I’m not sure what I’ll do with this, but I always like to investigate & try out every feature. URL… I’m not sure yet. Maybe if I end up using the Harmony Link, I can call it from HomeWave (but I’ll have to see if the app has a URL).

The URL functionality is fantastic - it lets me replace a couple of hacked together plugins and a bunch of scenes.
Another winning update!

Thanks so much.

I am struggling to understand this but would like to understand, are there any examples anywhere ?

Fixed the Foscam CAMs that had been picked up as Vistacams with “invalid URL”. Thanks.

 I’m sure I speak for all of us when I say your work on this app is first rate.

Not only did you create the best IOS app bar none with Vera, but your ongoing efforts to improve and update it are beyond compare.

I thank you for making this all happen. The hard work you put into Homewave is most commendable. ;D

Agreed! This is an awesome app that just keeps getting better and better.

Just got HomeWave yesterday. Learning curve . . . yes, the blue X’s are pretty ;D
Off to your website and the main thread to learn how to set it up. I believe everyone here on the potential. Thanks for the hard work.

Chris

later edit:
Super!

Continue the good work @intveltr!

  • It appears that confirming overwriting an existing config on dropbox, still results in an additional file.
  • On iPad, the sliding control screen panel is nice, but it would be good if it would be wider, especially in landscape mode, so that the labels fit / look the way they do on iPhone/iPod, when using a dense grid (5x6 in my case).
