Homeseer Primary w Vera Secondary?

Does anyone know if I can do a Homeseer Primary and a Vera Edge Secondary (and heres’ the kicker) using Vera’s radios for my existing Zwave setup? Essentially I would like to get HS up and running this week and dont have the time to wait for a Zwave stick to be shipped from the US (cos its on special right now).

Reason for doing this is there are some things in Homeseer that Vera wont do - like chromecast plugins and VB scripting (I dont want to have to learn lua) and Doorbird (just to name a few).

Depends on what you mean by primary and secondary:

If you speak in zwave terms: Both will have zwave control then yes, you can have two controllers in your network with the primary being the only one which can add and delete devices.

I you mean in terms of controller controlling one another over ethernet, I do not think Homeseer has a bridge plugin into the vera. It can probably send commands to the vera API (Luup commands) and poll it and you can probably get the vera to send its status to Homeseer but it would be a lot of work.

Thanks for this answer.

Sorry to quickly hijack this thread, but are you saying if you had:
Controller A - primary, let’s say it was HS3
Controller B - secondary, let’s say it was Vera

That HS3 is where you pair and unpair all your devices and is basically THE Z-wave controller… but that if you logged into Vera that it would also have all the devices on it, can turn things on and off, and would show their current status (e.g. if something was turned on in HS3, it would show as on in Vera)?

I’m hoping so…

One thing I’m doing right now is using the HTTP interface from HS3 to Vera. I have a couple devices still in Vera (Zigbee) and I have a scene in vera that calls HTTP to flip a switch in HS3 and vice versa. Works great.

Yes it will. You can do so with 2 veras or with 2 different zwave controller. The master which included the device will have it on its UI. The secondary may not have the device fully configured and may need some manual inputs. Zwave unlike zigbee can have multiple controllers on its network.

Yes that?s how I have openluup setup with home assistant as well.
