Trying to figure out how to turn my Visio TV on if someone approaches my house and trips the motion detector? The idea is a potential thief would look thru a window and the tv would be on loud and detour a breakin- or hear it. Then turn off after a set period. Apparently it would have to be an IR device aimed at the tv with the correct code. controlled somehow via a switch. Sure, I ave an alarm and a guard at the community gate, but my neighbor was broken into on halloween by smashing the dual pane out of his backdoor- didn’t set off the alarm because the door wasn’t opened- they just went thru it. They took the camera harddrive unit so no recordings available.
I think there is a remote app for a Samsung Smart TV, so if you have one you might be in luck. Motion sensors in your neighbours house would of raised an alarm. At least Vera stores images on the web where they can’t be taken. You may be able to find z-wave glass break sensors, although they are prone to false alarms. I am hoping to find an app for my Harmony Smart remote as well that has two IR blasters, and is already attached to my network.
