Hi ?
I?ve had Vera3 for about a year and now have a stable system that works great. I?ve got a couple of new mini projects on my mind but the biggest fruit is integrating my current wired alarm with Vera.
My contract with ADT expires this spring. Here are my top goals:
? Reduce monthly monitoring fees (Currently $40/Month)
? Use Alarm devices to trigger Vera events (motion, fire)
? Arm/Disarm alarm
I?m willing to invest in this project, but I am confused where to start.
The forst thing you should indemnify what alarm panel ADT have installed and then compare it with the list on compatible systems see http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/Supported_Hardware.
If it is compatible you should do some reading of the posts/wiki for that system to establish what steps are required to integrate your system with you Vera.
If it isn’t compatible you should review the list for compatible systems and investigate costs or what is required to convert your ADT system to one of them. It maybe only require minor upgrades or full system change.
In addition, what ever system it is currently or maybe in the future, you should easily achieve the desired outcomes you listed.
Does anyone have expereince with the Honeywell / Ademco panel?
Are there any alarm panels that need to be avoided?
Looks like the Honeywell with the AD2USB is the way to go.
Thanks!
