Is it controlled by (a) an IR remote with a display panel on wall mounted unit or (b) with a regular thermostat?
Hello bulldoglowell,
(A)
Same problem here, mine is a IR remote to control two AC Wall mounted unit. Maybe a IR blaster with an arduino for each room?

You may want to check out the Global Cache products like the GC series or the iTach. There is a plugin already on the MiOS marketplace and you should only have to deal with learning the IR codes.
Your problem will be incrementing/decrementing the temperature… how to register to the current set point.
the Remotec zxt-120 z-wave to IR Air Conditioner controller: http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,11660.msg83921.html#msg83921
I really like them, and use them with my Mitsubishi splits. Make sure you get the latest version (v1.4) because it supports many more ACs out of the box.
What model (Head unit specifically as this is what matters from an IR control perspective) do you have? I also have Mitsubishi mini splits (MSZ-FE09NA heads) and haven’t splurged on the ZXT-120’s because I’m afraid they won’t work with my unit. Everyone talks about Daikin’s and others.
Could you please describe in greater detail your experiences with the ZXT-120 and the Mitsubishi heat pump? I’m very Very eager to know!
it’s not really a heat-pump, it’s a Mitsubishi Mr. Slim split AC that is typically wall-mounted. v1.4 of the ZXT-120 added many pre-configured codes for Mitsubishi devices. After trial and error, code 326 worked best for me. I also tried the IR learning feature, and it worked (although it could become very time consuming to learn all codes manually ).
