Thanks for your help. I have tried to exclude/include the schlage door lock numerous times over a two day period. No luck. I have tried both the wizard as well as the include/exclude buttons on the back of the unit. I have connected an RJ45 cable to vera about 4 feet from the lock on house power. No luck.
I have reset the lock using the Schlage procedure and then started from scratch. No luck… I can’t even exlude the lock.
I still have one door lock paired and working, and one not. Same model different results. I had these paired and working before the upgrade to 1.1.1183.
Anyone have other ideas? I tried to return back to 1.1.1047 without luck.
Just bought 4 new Schlage locks the one I have had for over a year now that was paired on a previous version is working great cant get any of the new ones to pair under 1.1.1183 anyone had any luck with this yet?

This firmwares are intended only for beta testers, because a beta version
could have undiscovered bugs, and could fix an issue for some users but cause other problems to other users.
Also since you don’t know what firmware link to use on your Vera you could put Vera1 firmware on Vera2 and end up with an unusable unit!!!
Always use http://micasaverde.com/vera2 page for upgrading the firmware, if you’re not prompted in your Vera UI for the upgrade.
Running 1186 as I am a beta tester but still unable to pair my 4 new schlage locks going on one to two hours a day for 3 days. I also cannot remove two of the three locks that failed anyone have any suggestions?
Sorry I didn’t know I couldn’t post a beta firmware. I thought it was all beta firmware since there has never been a time yet that everything has worked. I figure it sure couldn’t hurt to try since a very major function like being able to pair a lock wasn’t working properly. The other being that you don’t even mention that you are working on a fix and just keep everyone in the dark. Also this is the beta that is automaticly put on when I went to http://micasaverde.com/vera2 so I don’t see and issue. I also tried installing Vera 2 firmware on a Vera 1 and it won’t let you. On top of that sometimes the http://micasaverde.com/vera2 doesn’t recognize your unit and it won’t upgrade which is what happend to me the on one of my units so I had to figrue out a link.
[quote=“reiserx, post:46, topic:167617”]If that doesn’t work copy and paste one of these links into vera. The first one is for a Vera1 and the Second for a Vera2.

Two more days of trying still can’t get the locks to pair or unpaid I now have five locks that say failed to configure in moos but only have three locks.
I’ve noticed that the beta you are using often has residual phantom devices after failed removal attempts. You may want to reset your Vera if your network is not too large (it should keep the firmware) then try re-adding the locks. Don’t forget to exclude the locks first!
I just swiched my last Vera 1 over from UI2 .879 to UI4 .1186 and had a lot of trouble getting the lock paired. I tried about 2 hours pairing and unpairing via full power. Then I went into Z-Wave device\Advanced and clicked reset Z-Wave network and Reset Z-Wave chip and it finally paired via the full power inclusion. Took about 4 hours total upgrading the firmware and rebuilding the network from scratch. I’d like to see if that works for anyone else.
One time it got the green light on the lock by pushing the button on Vera for pairing and it seemed like it all worked but wouldn’t let me add codes.
Over the weekend I installed a Schlage deadbolt and it was very easy.
I installed the lock in the door, then performed a “factory reset” (per Schlage’s instruction sheet) to clear any previous pairing that might have been done at the factory for testing. Then I moved my Vera 1 running firmware 1186 to within a couple of feet of the lock. I used a long Ethernet cable and plugged Vera into AC power so she was running like normal. (I could have left Vera in her usual place on the desk and assembled the lock there to accomplish the same thing.)
Next I opened Vera’s Wizard in the UI, then went to the lock and entered the lock’s code, pressed the “Schlage” button then “0”. The lock paired then showed up in the Wizard. I clicked through the Wizard and went to the dashboard and added PINs and notifications.
I could hardly believe how easy it was. First try, perfect.
Originally I added a Schlage lock by bringing Vera close to the lock, AC powered, no LAN. That worked on the first try.
I’ve subsequently excluded and reincluded the lock a few times. This was with Vera close to the lock, battery powered, no LAN. It worked the first time, but not after that. It wouldn’t successfully complete the configuration (i.e. the lock blinking red after a while).
Immediately after those failed attempts, I did a full power inclusion with Vera in her normal spot, 20 feet away from the lock, AC powered, with LAN. Worked right away.
The firmware version on Vera is 1186. The lock I described before paired fine straight out of the box. I subsequently had some issues pairing it again. Not until I switched to full power inclusion, and without any changes to the lock, did it pair successfully again.
The unsuccessful attempts were with Vera on battery power and using the include/exclude button. The lock would always successfully exclude (i.e. green blinking Schlage button), but inclusion would fail at some point (i.e. Vera was definitely talking to it: steady green Zwave light on Vera, but then something would go wrong and the Schlage button would blink red).
So I would recommend always trying a full power inclusion.
After several weeks of Schlage lock battles, hopefully my experience will be of help to someone.
I was initially on something like .996 or .998, I don’t recall the exact version, but the lock wouldn’t show up at all when I tried to pair it.
I read this thread extensively, decided it was probably a firmware issue, and upgraded first to .1047 (didn’t work), then to .1186.
Once on 1186, the lock showed up on the dashboard but failed when getting secure classes (error shows up inside the lock device window on the dashboard).
I spoke to tech support, they eventually got on the phone and we tried un-pairing and re-pairing, still no joy.
This afternoon, I received a link to an early version of the latest firmware which I’m told is to be released imminently, the version I now have is .1230
I ran the pairing with .1230 and it worked instantly, no high power pairing or any other special measures required.
Anyone successful with version 1.1.1245?
Tried resetting lock. Excluding, including. Vera blinks during include and lock sends signal for 30 seconds and then lights red. Doesn’t matter what the timeout is set to 30 or 120 seconds.
Positioned close and far.
Any ideas?
With 1.1.1245 and Z-Wave 3.20, I successfully paired 2 Kwikset deadbolts and 2 Schlage lever locks. Each one paired on the first try. When I paired each of them, I had Vera plugged-in and on the floor under the lock.
