Help wire a Fibaro Roller Shutter into my garage

I have been able to add a momentory switch to my electric door opener

I now want to add a Fibaro Roller Shutter module

Attached is the wiring diagram to add a switch to my garage.

can i include the Fibaro roller shutter module or do i need to access the motor?

The fibaro module says O1 need to go to the driver of the motor and O2 goes to reverse

so this can be done with a momentary switch

  1. Switch type.
The parameter settings are relevant for Roller Blind Mode and
Venetian Blind Mode (parameter 10 set to 0, 1, 2).
    0 - Momentary switches
    1 - Toggle switches
2 - Single, momentary switch. (The switch should be connected to
    S1 terminal)
    Default setting: 0
    Parameter size: 1 [byte]

Will it still run through a calibration though??

Thanks
N

Based on the picture, it looks like you are working with a Marantec garage door opener.

The roller shutter module is not the appropriate device for this application. The roller shutter module is meant for direct control of a motor. You do not have direct control of your garage door opener’s motor. You only have access to the momentary switch terminals(2 Impluse in the diagram).

This means that your Z-Wave device needs to be a momentary switch, just like the momentary switch on your wall. . You should use a Z-Wave device that is a relay for this. The Fibaro FGS212 or the FGS221 are the right devices for this application.

That makes complete Sense!
Thanks for the reply , really appreciate it!

Hi Z-Waver.

1 more question.
Could i user the MIMOlite Garage Door Controller? this would then give me a status of the door wouldn’t it?

removing the jumper converts the controller to accept momentary switch input

Thanks

Yes, the Mimolite is suitable for this application. However, search the forums for issues with the Mimolite. I feel that I remember reading something about an issue with the Mimolite Vera plugin, perhaps a compatibility issue with UI7 or something.

Be aware that with your type of door opener and this type of relay controller, you will not have precise door position information in Vera. You will only have open or closed status. Though most people, myself included, at first want the concept of precise door position in Vera, you’ll find that open/closed is all that’s really needed.

Look at the Garage door plugin from @RichardTSchaefer, it combines a standard relay and a standard door/window sensor into a single lock class device in Vera to represent your garage door. It works perfectly.
