Can anyone explain how I can get alerts on a sensor that I setup but can’t see the sensor under devices?

I hope someone has an answer. I have a similar proplem; Vera says it cannot connect with the sensor, but the sensor works perfectly in every scene it’s placed in. If I physically open the sensor and close it, Vera connects again for a couple of weeks, and then looses the connection again. Very frustrating having that red banner show up all the time.
