Has anyone tried using Vera1's dongle with Vera2?

You can change the port assignment within Vera2 to use the built in Z-Wave or switch to one of the USB ports.

Anyone tried using a USB Z-Wave dongle?

JOD.

I haven’t personally but MCV has said it it will work, as this is how they wok around the lack of support for the Australian Zwave frequency. Once plugging it in you just have to change the Zwave dongle port.

This is what I do. Put the dongle into one of the Vera2’s USB ports. Go to Toolbox > Z-Wave Device > Options, and enter into the Port field: /dev/usb/tts/0. Reboot.

The built-in (US frequency) Z-wave radio is now inaccessible, and the (AU frequency) dongle handles all of Vera’s Z-Wave tasks.
