Google TTS for windows media player (solved)

Hi All,

I have been able to play a music to my windows 8.1 media player and BubbleUPNP for android through vera dlna plugin. However, when trying to play Google TTS, my windows media player shows a popup to enter my vera username/password while my BubbleUPNP does not say anything. Here is my vera logs:

Please advise and thanks a lot.

Please check this topic, even if it is relative to Sonos: http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,25689.0.html

You probably secured the local access to your Vera ?

Hi Lolodomo,

  1. I have unchecked “secure my vera” and rebooted it.

  2. My vera and my android are in the same subnet.

  3. I could play an mp3, volume up/down but not TTS.

  4. My device RouterIp set to empty and RouterPort set to 80

  5. I am using ui7 & veralite (fireware 1.7.439)

  6. DLNA plugin version 1.2

It still does not work for me :frowning:

Thanks.

Unfortunately, your logs are weird and I don’t have the initial TTS request. The first line of your logs could be the result of the request and looks good (200), even if I see “NOT-IMPLEMENTED” strings at the end. Is it a bad copy/paste of logs ?

Is it logs when using WMP ?
What about logs with BubbleUPnP. I know that it works with BubbleUPnP and I can check. I cannot check with Windows 8.1 (only Windows 7).

Why the media player would request a Vera username/password if you have not secured your Vera local access ?

Here is my log for BubbleUpNP

Although I have unsecured my vera. When trying to access vera through a local IP (192.168.0.x), firefox still shows me a popup login:

“A username and password are being requested by http://192.168.0.3. The site says: “HomeControl””

If I secure my vera, I could not access the local IP from the network and I have to go through home.getvera.com.

That is probably the reason why TTS is not working. You must have access to the Vera WEB server without having to enter a password. Entering your Vera IP should open your Vera UI.

I think it may be a bug in ui7 firmware 1.7.439. I wonder if anyone succeeds TTS with ui7.

It was working with 1.7.388.

Hi Lolodomo,

How about 1.7.439? I have sent an email to vera support but have not heard anything back from them. If this is the case, could we integrate the username/password into DLNA plugin?

THanks,

Take a look in the forum, other users had the same issue than you with local access to UI and finally solved this issue.

For my windows media player, it seems my text to speech is working after I entered my username/password to the login box. My test string was too short before and that’s why i didn’t hear anything. I am still trying to figure out why my vera still shows a message “The server is asking for your username/password”…I know for sure that my vera “secure my vera” is unchecked and rebooted as I could access my vera using local IP and enter a username/password.

Finally, A tech support from Vera Control remotely logged into my vera and fixed the problem. I could play TTS without the login popup now. Thanks Lolodomo for your help. However, after giving up with DLNA as I thought Vera may never reply my support email, I have bought an airport extreme and a few airport expresses and integrate them with my iMac via Airplay. Both are working great. The benefit of using DLNA is I don’t have to keep my iMac on all the time
