Two ghost Panasonic camera devices just appeared in my system. The devices show in the list but cannot be opened. A LUUP restart hasn’t got rid of them. Any ideas gratefully received!
Maybe using the following commands/links in your browser helps you:
List all devices:
http://<Vera_IP>:3480/data_request?id=user_data&output_format=xml
Delete a Device:
http://<Vera_IP>:3480/data_request?id=device&action=delete&device=<device_ID>
With the first command you should be able to see all the details of the devices. Once you have the ID’s of the two ghost devices you might be able to remove them with the second command (be careful no choose the correct ID).
But I can’t explain where the ghost devices may come from…
Thanks Chixxi - but when I looked at the device list as you suggested they are not there! They appear only on the control panel but are not clickable to remove.
This has just happened a short while after I updated the firmware but everything else seems fine.
Very strange!
Indeed very strange.
Maybe clearing the browser cache and reload the UI helps…
Do you have a camera plugin installed? That is not needed anymore as far as I know.
No, no cam plug-in installed. It seems to be a Safari issue, since the ghost devices do not appear on automator.app on my iPad. I’ve tried clearing the cache and resetting browser and reloading UI but they are still there! Really strange.
When I originally upgrade to UI5, it did cause ghosting like you are seeing. It was a result of the different plugins (5 and 7) being used which should have been rectified in more recent firmware updates. You could load the Vera System file to get a snapshot of your unit see:

If you can get to the Advanced tab try adding a parent device, save, restart Luup, then try to delete. Otherwise might be good idea to contact support and left them rectify it.
Well, I don’t know why but when I checked today the ghosts had departed!
Brientim, the camera devices were not clickable so I couldn’t get to the advanced tab or anything else, unfortunately.
I guess we just chalk this one down to (an odd) experience!
Thanks for the comments though, guys. ![]()
The ghost were your system updating. Sometimes they take considerable time depending on memory etc.
